Some states, including Minnesota and South Dakota, allow Certified Food Managers to renew their certification by taking our online recertification course. This works especially well if you live in a rural area and do not want to or cannot travel to take a proctored exam.Minnesota and South Dakota do not require a proctored exam for CFM re-certification. The course is $49.95 and is rated at eight hours. Because it is an interactive, self-paced course, the actual time taken varies by student.
An existing Food Manager in Minnesota or South Dakota whose certificate has not yet expired can take this course for re-certification. Successfully completing this course will extend your certificate for another 3-5 years, depending on the state in which you are certified.
